Donations & Consignment

GreeNest is a local program that provides household furnishings to individuals and families transitioning to sustainable housing. Click the link above to see what kinds of items they accept (and cannot accept). We like to donate new or gently-used household items like small pieces of furniture, dishes, lamps, and kitchenware.

The Mission Thrift Store sells home and office furniture, mattresses, bedding, clothing, novelty items, appliances, and more. All proceeds from the store go directly back to the Mission to provide food, clothing, shelter and Christian education.

Goodwill works to enhance people’s dignity and quality of life by strengthening their communities, eliminating their barriers to opportunity, and helping them reach their full potential through learning and the power of work.

The cats and dogs at Forsyth Humane Society have many needs, and they greatly appreciate any donations of pet food, supplies, and toys that people can make.

Donations can be brought to either 5570 Sturmer Park Circle or 4881 Country Club Road in Winston Salem.

The Clothing Closet at The Shalom Project accepts freshly washed, in season clothing, shoes and accessories for all sizes and ages, as well as small household goods (non glass), toiletries, toilet paper, cleaning products, toys, bedding, towels, diapers, etc.

The Shepherd’s Center is an interfaith ministry that promotes and supports successful aging by providing direct services, volunteer opportunities, and enrichment programs for older adults.

They have an annual used book drive to raise money for their mission. This helps get low cost books to people and raise funds for their main work with our local seniors.

Highlights:
📚 used books only (no magazines or encyclopedias cassette tapes or VHS tapes, please)
📚 Dedicated volunteers sort and price books throughout the week to prepare for their annual book sale.

Family Services is a multi-faceted agency in Winston-Salem that supports our community in so many ways.

FS will happily accept old cell phones. In full disclosure, they send them to a company to recycle, and FS receives a check for the donation. This is better than your phone sitting around at your house collecting dust.

The Art Shac is a creative non-profit, started by local artists to provide the Winston-Salem community with access to upcycled art supplies as well as classes. They accept gently used arts and crafts supplies, fabrics, and craft papers.

City with Dwellings is a local group that serves families experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity. They assemble Welcome Home Kits for individuals or families transitioning to sustainable housing, as well as provide a winter emergency shelter for those in need. Lego Replay is a great way for you to pass forward your gently used Lego to kids in need. Lego works closely with multiple donation partners to send a box with a variety of bricks and elements, as well as an activity booklet with some building ideas, to children who otherwise wouldn't have access to them.

The Parenting Path has newly opened the Pinwheels Thrift Shop, which offers infant to adult sized clothing, shoes, accessories, and more! All proceeds directly benefit families in Forsyth county and the surrounding area.

Dress for Success takes your gently used, work appropriate women's clothing and provides professional attire to women seeking employment. They accept accessories - jewerly, handbags, cosmetic bags, scarves and shoes.
